Just a few weeks left
!

Hard to believe there are just a few weeks left in 7th grade! It has been a true privilege to work with your children this year. The kids have shown great growth, and we have shared some wonderful moments.

Please be aware of the following important dates to help ensure a strong finish to a fantastic year:
  1. Language Arts: Jackie Robinson Report due on Thursday, 5/23. No late papers will be accepted.
  2. Math: Final on Thursday, 5/23 & Friday, 5/24
  3. Science: Final on Friday, 5/24 and extra credit due on Thursday, 5/23
  4. Social Studies: Business projects (50 test grade points)are due Tuesday, 5/14. No late projects will be accepted. Economics Quiz (25 points) on Wednesday, 5/22.
  5. An assembly in recognition of the school receiving recognition as an A+ School of Excellence will be held at 10:30 on Wednesday, 5/22.
  6. Team Day, Wednesday 5/29:
The last day of school will be spent celebrating our time together through a few special events.
During 1st period, we will have water events including a 20' water slide! To participate, students will need to bring modest swim wear, sun screen, and a dry change of clothing.

We will also be providing a pizza lunch for the students, so they do not need to bring food or drink unless they do not eat pizza. The kids will be given an extended lunch period during which they can get their yearbooks signed.
We will end the day with the movie Happy Feet, which ties in with many of the topics the kids have been exploring in science.

As usual, students must have passed their classes participate in team day.

Students: you have been placed on Team 705, the Orange Crushers. You should feel proud, because while in a certain light all teams at Payne are fantastic and full of winners, under another, more accurate light, your team is the most fantastic and winningest.

Please, however, do not call all your friends on other teams to gloat, or brag to random students in the hall. True winners are humble in their unfathomable greatness.

Parents: your child has just learned lesson 1: graciousness in victory. If you are astounded that learning has happened already, do not be. When it comes to teaching your children, the Orange Crushers spare nothing (not even a moment).

  • Follow the instructions in this Parent Portal Letter to access your child's grades online. If you have any trouble, please check to make sure you have used a capital S before the correct student ID number. If you continue to have issues, please send Mr. DePrez an email with your name and student id number and we will help you reset the password.
